Rumours are rapidly circulating that the Apple iPhone 8GB handset cost is being dropped to £169 from £269 by O2. Expect to see the same price cut at Carphone Warehouse, the only official independant retailer. Rumour has it that a 3G version launch may be imminent and that prices are being cut across Europe - it was reported that in Germany you can get the handset on contract for 99 Euros.
