How to set up an Asus Eee PC with Mobile Broadband

"Just set up an Orange E160 on 2gb EEE. Plugged in USB (no sd in dongle) Power up E, followed above instructions - mine showed 2 devices, chose top one, username & password blank. Job done!"

"This does work. To resolve the issue at step 3 of nothing appearing - try having the dongle already in at boot up or when you first switch on the asus. I found this recognized the modem at step 3. However, having worked through the rest of the steps ok - to the point where the dongle is enabled (both on the asus as stated as well as the steady light on the dongle) the web pages still don't load. Anyone got suggestions?"

"Great help, but after i went through all the directions and everything seemed to go fine, when i opened a browser it did nothing, ie the usual page nt found etc, as if it had no connection.

This is the PAYG version.

Also tried with a T Mobile stick but couldn't get this one to work at all.
