The HTC Snap is the first BlackBerry like QWERTY keyboard device since the launched the HTC S620 back in 2006.
The HTC Snap is a welcome device in the HTC range which is currently dominated by high end touch screen devices. The HTC Snap looks fantastic but at its heart is a smartphone that is practical, easy to use and functional with an emphasis on connecting with your contacts, messaging and organising.
The HTC Snap introduces a new feature not seen on other devices called Inner Circle. It allows you to filter out unwanted emails and messages so you can concentrate on your most important contacts who are in your 'Inner Circle'. You can tunr the filter on and off using the Inner Circle button in the bottom right hand corner of the QWERTY keyboard.
The HTC Snap has a BlackBerry form factor last seen on the HTC S620 back in late 2006 so it has been a long time coming. There is a full QWERTY keyboard at the bottom of the device for easy thumb operated messaging and a portrait orientated 2.4" QVGA screen. The screen is unfortunately not touch screen, instead thumb operated trackball is used to navigate the Windows Mobile 6.1 interface.
Other notable specs include a fast 528 MHz processor, 256MB Rom and 196MB Ram, HSDPA mobile broadband internet connectivity, a 2 mega pixel camera, GPS receiver, bluetooth, audio and video player and MicroSD expansion.
The HTC Snap should prove popular with any BlackBerry adicts wanting Windows Mobile device or people looking for a more affordable Windows Mobile device.
