Apple is claiming an increase of speed up to two times faster that the previous iPhone 3G thanks to both improvements in hardware and the latest operating system - iPhone OS 3.0. Applications, web page browsing and general operation is now faster and easier than ever before.

Other key improvements offered by the iPhone 3GS include video - shoot, edit and share recorded VGA video clips. A 3 mega pixel camera lets you take great snaps and comes with an innovative click to focus feature that lets you selct the subject on screen you want to focus on. Voice control is also available for hands free calling or music selection.

The iPhone 3GS also has a number of operating system and software enhancements. Users can finally cut, copy and paste - a bit of an oversight on Apple's behalf which has now been remedied with the release of iPhone OS 3.0. Accessibility, messaging, keyboard and search functionality has also been improved or added and Apple are plugging the new digital compass feature which looks very nice but how useful this will be remains to be seen.

Web tethering is also now available. Web tethering lets you use the iPhone like a mobile broadband modem, so you can use share its internet connection with your laptop, netbook or other internet enabled devices.

The new iPhone 3GS also includes existing features such as web browsing, iPod, maps, app store and of course mobile phone features.
