- 3. Plug it into a USB port of a PC running Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X

- 5. Enter access details given by Vodafone etc into Ovation setup wizard

HSUPA Technology
European 3G 2100Mhz networks come in three flavours; three different speeds; HSUPA, HSDPA and UMTS. The Ovation MC950D supports all three, so in any European 3G area you will get fast internet and email use from 1.8 up to a blistering 7.2Mpbs.
When travelling in areas or countries not yet covered by 3G networks, the Ovation MC950D will use the global Quadband EDGE and GPRS technologies to give you a slower but still invaluable connection. Status LEDs on the Ovation show current connection status, link type in use and any error conditions.

Performance
Laptops traditionally give less power over the USB connection than Desktop PCs, so in low signal areas or for top performance, Ovation supply a USB “Y” cable with the MC950D letting it take power from two USB sockets. In low signal areas this can greatly improve the 3G lock-on.
In addition, Ovation integrate two technologies called Receiver Diversity and Equaliser Support. These new techniques allow the MC950D to perform better when highly mobile and handle the signal better when at the edge of a cellular area or inside buildings.

3G and 37g !
The Ovation MC950D USB uses a standard SIM from any network. Ovation recommend a Contract SIM. Naturally, the MC950D will need a data plan or tariff enabled on the SIM.
At just 37g in weight with and all the flexibility of the driverless USB for factor, the Ovation MC950D is probably the easiest way to take a broadband link from place to place and machine to machine.
