The HTC Titan runs the latest release of Windows Phone 7.5, aka Mango.

The handset itself is huge with 4.7" 800x480 pixel resolution display, larger tan its predecessor, the HTC HD7 which had a 4.3" screen. The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz processor (no support yet for Dual Core) but this will do nicely. Plus there is 16GB of built in storage which should be plenty for music, videos and photos - taken on the 8 mega-pixel camera of course.

Heaven knows why Palm devices haven't caught on but now they are owned by HP, the roll-out of devices has increased and hopefully with more marketing muscle and distribution the company can make new ground - but then again for me, a device loses a lot of its allure once they are the in thing and overly popular.

In an attempt to gain ground on Apple and Google HP have launched three new devices to cater for all segments of the smartphone market including a tablet device. These include the compact HP Veer, the follow up to the Palm Pre 2 - the HP Pre 3 and the aforementioned HP TouchPad.

If you have two hours you can watch the HP webOS Think Beyond Event - its a little slow with a bit too much corporate spokesman hoo-haa going on but if you fast forward through you can see some nice demos of the new hardware.

Following an announcement earlier this week by the new CEO Stephen Elop that Nokia is "standing on a 'burning platform" and in the wake of the company losing market share to Apple and Google, the company has decided to take a bold step and team up with Microsoft.

The Windows Phone 7, although receiving some rave reviews is still in its infancy having only been around for a few months and represents a huge risk for Nokia. For Microsoft it is great news and will allow them to increase their market share rapidly on the back of the Worlds largest handset manufacturer.

The Dell Streak received a lot of hype pre launch not only because it is from Dell but also because it is a little bit different.

The thing that sets the Dell Streak apart from other smartphones is its huge 5" screen making it somewhat a hybrid between a phone and an Android powered tablet. Read our Dell Streak review and specs for details of all the features but ultimately I guess it is up to the user whether they use this device as their phone or as a kind of 3G enabled micro-tablet.

There is no question whether or not the new iPhone 4 is an awesome device but the pre launch hype and ability to meet customer demand leaves a lot to be desired. There are reports that production has had to be cut due to the way the retina display is manufactured or could it be something more sinister - like trailing the device to see if anyone notices the now well reported reception problems or is it a great way to make the phone more desirable by making it less obtainable.

The next batch are due on 2nd July now and as always you can compare iPhone 4 contracts on our site and rumour has it a software fix is imminent to help with the reception issues.

The phone retails at around £330 sim free / unlocked and is available on contract free on a £20/month, 18 month contract so it is slightly cheaper and more affordable than its big brother.
